Better Brightness Slider takes the brightness option in Minecraft’s settings and removes its narrow limits. Instead of moving between 0% and 100%, the bar now runs from -100% all the way up to 1200%, and the top of that range acts as a fullbright setting for dark, unlit places.
The lower half of the range matters just as much. Pushing the slider below zero makes the picture darker than the vanilla minimum allows, which helps whenever the default floor still feels too bright for the mood you are after.
Everything happens on the client, so the mod never has to be installed on a server and you can take it into multiplayer worlds with it enabled. It targets Forge on Minecraft 1.20.x and should sit alongside Optifine or Rubidium without getting in their way.
