OMSI 2 Updates Valiant Citybus Models, Open OMSI Fixes

OMSI 2: Steam Edition picked up a patch on November 4, 2026, touching three buses in the Valiant Citybus lineup. The update bundles general bug fixes with a batch of changes aimed specifically at Open OMSI, the unofficial server software some players use for multiplayer and extended features.

Valiant Citybus Family

The base Valiant Citybus got a couple of quality of life fixes. Ventilation controls used to need a second click right after turning them on to actually work, and that’s now sorted. The bus’s bounding boxes were also corrected, and on Open OMSI the rear doors, which previously refused to open, now function properly.

Valiant Citybus Family Facelift

The facelift version sees a reworked ZF ecolife gearbox. The shift-down point now adjusts dynamically based on terrain, the gearbox can shift at lower RPM under light throttle, and there’s a new “kickdown 2” mode that lets the bus hold gears up to 2000 RPM under certain driving conditions. Separately, the 4-door variant of the 7700 had a wrong passenger cabin model, which has been fixed.

Valiant Citybus 7700 Hybrid

The hybrid model’s I-shift gearbox also got reworked. In diesel mode there’s now a clutch simulation, with the clutch slipping at 900 engine RPM before fully engaging, and full-throttle starts from a stopped engine feel smoother as a result. On the Open OMSI side, gear changes above tenth gear used to apply torque too fast, causing the bus to lurch forward unexpectedly. That’s been fixed too.

What This Means for Mod Users

If you run any of these Valiant Citybus variants, expect smoother gearbox behavior and more realistic clutch feel after updating, particularly if you drive on hilly routes or rely on Open OMSI for multiplayer sessions. Anyone using custom liveries or route add-ons built around the 7700’s passenger layout should double check compatibility after the cabin fix, since interior geometry changed slightly.

On Open OMSI itself, the developers repeated a standing warning: it’s third-party software that isn’t officially moderated, so there’s a real risk of malware if you grab files from the wrong place. Stick to trusted sources and keep backups of your route and bus mod folders before updating, just in case any custom content depends on the older gearbox or cabin behavior.
