ETS2 Iceland DLC: Reykjavík Map and New Special Transport Routes

Truck driving through Reykjavík waterfront with Harpa Concert Hall in Euro Truck Simulator 2 Iceland DLC

SCS Software has shared fresh details on the upcoming Iceland DLC for Euro Truck Simulator 2, this time focusing on the recreation of Reykjavík and a batch of new Special Transport routes. The expansion is due out on November 10th, 2026.

Reykjavík sits on the Seltjarnarnes peninsula, and the developer says fitting the whole city into the game’s map scale wasn’t simple. With the capital hemmed in by water and surrounded by the sprawl of Greater Reykjavík, the team had to juggle road layout, industry placement and landmark recreation while leaving room for the countryside around it.

Route 41, which links Reykjavík to Keflavík, makes an appearance and runs through industrial zones before reaching the waterfront. A short stretch of Route 49 is also included, connecting the city to Iceland’s Ring Road, known locally as Hringvegur.

Industry and Landmarks

Truckers will find several depots scattered through the city and its outskirts. These include the Straumsvík aluminium smelter, described as Iceland’s first and longest-running aluminium reduction plant, and a farming area in Mosfellsdalur near Route 36. The suburb of Garðabær adds an IKA store and a logistics hub, while Sundahöfn by the harbour brings a container port and a recycling company.

An oil storage facility near the capital handles fuel supply for the region, and players setting up shop in the area will find a Volvo dealership, a service station and a garage for purchase.

On the sightseeing side, SCS packed in Reykjavík’s best-known spots: the glass-fronted Harpa Concert Hall, the Central Bank of Iceland, the harbour’s yellow lighthouses, the Ingólfur Arnarson statue, and the Sun Voyager sculpture along the shore. The Hallgrímskirkja church tower is visible across much of the city, including from a distance when approaching the capital. A recruitment agency and a coach terminal sit near the harbour, with the terminal shifted slightly from its real location to fit the map’s scale.

Special Transport Additions

Owners of the Special Transport DLC get four new routes across Iceland: Selfoss to Selfoss, Keflavík to Selfoss, Blönduós to Akureyri, and Ólafsvík to Hólmavík. Cargo on offer includes reservoir tanks, silos, boats, oversized tyres and underground loaders, plus a new addition called the Articulated Dumper, a piece of heavy machinery previously exclusive to American Truck Simulator.

SCS advises drivers to stick close to their escort vehicles and stay alert to surroundings given the size of these loads.

What This Means for Modders

Players running mods should expect the usual settling-in period after a map DLC this size lands. Back up your save and mod profile before installing Iceland, and check that any map add-ons, traffic mods or truck physics tweaks get updated by their authors for compatibility. Big map releases like this often shift load order requirements, so it’s worth testing your setup once the DLC is live rather than assuming everything will carry over cleanly.
