SCS Software has set a release date for the Iceland DLC in Euro Truck Simulator 2. The expansion arrives on November 10, 2026, and the studio marked the announcement with a new trailer showing off the island’s roads and scenery.
The DLC adds 14 cities and settlements, including Reykjavík and Akureyri, connected by the Ring Road. SCS describes a mix of volcanic terrain, glaciers, coastal routes and remote stretches of countryside, with landmarks like Jökulsárlón, Gullfoss, Seljalandsfoss, Geysir and Þingvellir placed along the way. Drivers will also run into narrow single-lane bridges where you have to give way to oncoming traffic, something that adds a bit of extra tension on longer hauls.
New industries and visual touches
Beyond the scenery, the map brings fresh delivery options tied to custom farms, quarries and a silica factory located in Húsavík. SCS says these locations each have their own look and feel, giving players more reasons to keep running routes across the island rather than just passing through for the views.
Lighting gets extra attention too. Daylight hours will follow Iceland’s real-world patterns, so nights and days won’t match the rest of the ETS2 map exactly. Under the right conditions, the Northern Lights can show up in the sky, which should make night runs worth sticking around for.
What this means for ETS2 mod users
Anyone running a modded Euro Truck Simulator 2 setup should treat this DLC like any other big map expansion. Back up your mod list and profile before updating, since a new map pack usually comes bundled with a game update that can break map mods, traffic mods or texture overhauls until their authors patch them.
If you use route-planning mods, UI overhauls or traffic density tweaks, check mod pages after the Iceland DLC goes live on November 10, 2026, to see if creators have confirmed compatibility. Heavier modifications like other map DLCs stitched together with community connectors are the ones most likely to need a fresh patch, so it’s worth waiting a few days after launch if you rely on a complex mod collection.
SCS has also encouraged players to wishlist the DLC on Steam ahead of release, which is a simple way to get notified once it unlocks.
