ETS2 Iceland DLC Previews Seljalandsfoss and Other Viewpoints

Seljalandsfoss waterfall scene from the Euro Truck Simulator 2 Iceland DLC

SCS Software has shared a fresh look at the upcoming Iceland DLC for Euro Truck Simulator 2, this time focusing on the viewpoints players will be able to stop at while driving through the map. The studio posted the preview on Steam on 26 October 2026, giving a small taste of the scenic stops planned for the expansion.

Viewpoints are a familiar feature in ETS2 and American Truck Simulator. Drivers pull up to a marked spot, trigger a short cutscene, and get a guided look at a real-world location recreated in the game. Iceland, according to SCS, will have plenty of them built around the country’s natural landmarks.

Waterfalls, a lagoon and a canyon

Among the locations shown is Seljalandsfoss, a waterfall in southern Iceland sitting right next to the Ring Road, where water drops about 60 metres into a pool below. Further southwest, near the Reykjanes Peninsula, drivers will be able to visit the Blue Lagoon, the geothermal spa that formed by accident in 1976 during construction of the Svartsengi Geothermal Power Plant. Its milky-blue water comes from a high silica content.

East of Reykjavík, the DLC includes Gullfoss, known as the “Golden Falls”, recognisable for its two-tiered drop and canyon setting. In eastern Iceland, there’s also Stuðlagil Canyon, a basalt rock formation that only became visible in 2009 after a hydroelectric project lowered the water level of the Jökulsá á Dal River.

Near Akureyri, players will find Goðafoss, tied to a story from around 1000 AD when Iceland shifted to Christianity. As the legend goes, chieftain Þorgeir Ljósvetningagoði threw his pagan idols into the falls to mark the change.

SCS Software said more viewpoints are planned, including Þingvellir, Geysir and Jökulsárlón, but left those for players to discover once the DLC is out. The developer encouraged fans to add the Iceland DLC to their Steam wishlist.

What this means for modders

No release date was given in this update, so there’s nothing to install yet. Once Iceland does land, players running heavy mod setups, especially map mods or traffic overhauls, should expect some adjustment time before everything lines up with the new region.

It’s a good moment to back up your save and mod list now, since big map DLCs tend to prompt updates from mod authors shortly after launch. Keeping an eye on compatibility notes from your favorite mod creators will save headaches once Iceland is live.
