Euphonium adds ambient sound that follows where you actually are in the world. Biomes, nearby structures and environmental conditions each get their own ambience, so different surroundings stop sharing the same thin background. The whole set is written to fit vanilla rather than replace its character, which keeps it comfortable in an otherwise close-to-vanilla setup.
Control is straightforward. Overall loudness runs through the standard Ambient Sounds slider, while a TOML configuration file opens up the details: which sound channel the mod uses, a volume multiplier for world ambience, individual toggles for every type of ambience, and separate tweaks for the cave darkness ambience if you want the underground handled differently.
Under the hood the mod is a backported fork of Charmonium 6.0, rebuilt with all new buildscripts and a self-contained TOML config in place of the original API, which was not source-visible. Running it through (Neo)Forge additionally needs Connector and the Forgified Fabric API. It also pairs well with a dedicated footstep sound mod if you want more foley depth in the mix.
