Connectible Chains takes the ordinary chain item and lets it span the gap between two posts. Instead of stacking chain blocks in a vertical line, you use a chain on one fence, wall or iron bar and then on another, and a chain is strung between the two points. It is a small change that opens up railings, barriers and decorative details that vanilla chains alone cannot cover.
Because the connected chains have collision, they behave like proper barriers rather than flat decoration. Removing one is just as quick: attack the chain with a pair of shears and it comes down. Placing a normal vertical chain on a fence still works too – just sneak while you use the item, and the block goes down the usual way.
Fence and wall variants from other mods can be brought in without touching any code, since a data pack together with a resource pack is enough to teach the mod about the new blocks and their textures. If an invisible collision is ever left behind somewhere, holding shears while entity hitboxes are turned on with F3+B makes it visible so it can be attacked and cleared away. The Fabric build targets Minecraft 1.21.1.
