Nicer Skies rebuilds the Minecraft night sky around nebulas. The whole skybox is generated at runtime and depends on the world seed or the server you are playing on, so every world ends up with its own nebulas overhead rather than the same sky above every base.
Stars get the same treatment. Instead of a static field of identical white dots, they twinkle and carry slightly different colours, which makes standing outside after sunset feel considerably more alive. The nebulas have a shader-like quality to them even though they come from the mod’s own sky rendering.
Configuration is reachable from the mod list once Mod Menu is installed, letting you tune how the nebulas and stars look; without it the mod simply stays on its default settings. It is worth noting that the sky rendering does not work with most shader packs, with Complementary Reimagined being a confirmed exception.
