Spyglass Astronomy turns the Minecraft sky into something worth studying. Each world gets its own procedurally generated solar system with better-looking stars, planets and comets, created largely according to real scientific principles, so effects like orbital resonance and alignments behave just as they would in reality.
Everything happens through the spyglass. Middle click while zoomed in cycles between the vanilla view, constellation mode and star mode. In constellation mode you hold left click and drag between stars to draw your own constellations, while star mode lets you select individual stars and planets.
Once something is selected you can give it a name or look up information about it with client-side commands. The mod is designed to support world-building and immersion, encouraging you to invent lore for every constellation you draw and every planet you name.
Because the sky is identical for everyone on the same world, sharing works naturally in multiplayer: a share command produces a code other players with the mod can use to add your constellation or names. The mod runs entirely on the client, includes its own scrollable spyglass zoom and works together with Cosmos for its star rendering.
