ArdaGrass targets one of the oldest visual annoyances in Minecraft: the strip of dirt that runs along the side of every grass block. When other grass blocks are nearby, the mod renders the top grass texture on those sides instead, so hills and open plains read as one continuous green surface rather than a layered stack of blocks.
It is a Fabric-native take on the Better Grass feature many players know from Optifine, which makes it a straightforward answer for anyone who has moved to Fabric but still wants that softer terrain look. Special compatibility with the grass block models from Conquest Reforged means detailed building setups keep rendering correctly as well.
At well under a tenth of a megabyte it is one of the smallest visual upgrades you can add to a 1.21.1 world, and it stays purely visual — only the sides of grass blocks are drawn differently.
