Elytra Trinket does exactly one job: it makes the Elytra a valid item for the cape slot that the Trinkets API provides. Nothing else is added, which is why the whole download is measured in kilobytes rather than megabytes. Fabric API is required, along with either Trinkets or the Trinkets Canary fork.
It exists as a stripped-down counterpart to Elytra Slot. That larger mod covers Fabric, Forge and Quilt and also handles some modded Elytra variants, so it is the better pick while it is up to date; this one sticks to Fabric and keeps up with new game versions faster. The two can be mixed freely, and any combination across client and server works.
Development ends with the release of Minecraft 26.1. Trinkets itself has gone a year and a half without an update, more mods look set to build on the Accessories system instead, and Accessories already allows the Elytra as a built-in trinket, so support stops here rather than carrying on into newer releases.
