Cobblemon is an open-source Pokémon mod that folds catching, training and evolving straight into everyday Minecraft survival. More than 700 Pokémon are ready to be caught, and every species from the first nine generations can be spawned and fought, with the ones still waiting on a model showing up as a substitute doll. Wild encounters hand out experience, leveling unlocks new moves, and evolution happens when you decide rather than automatically.
Fights run on the Pokémon Showdown engine, which brings accurate competitive battle mechanics to every encounter. A few Legends Arceus-style touches round the system out: moves can be relearned, you can physically run away from a battle, and free movement can be toggled on so building, mining or fending off hostile mobs stays possible in the middle of a fight. The Pokédex records everything you see and catch, and its scanning feature analyzes wild Pokémon.
Away from battling there is a full survival loop to work through. Berries turn up in the wild, grow on farmland, react to mulch and cross-breed into new varieties, while crops and berries placed in a brewing stand become medicine that heals more than the raw ingredients. Fossils are excavated from suspicious gravel and sand in the right locations and brought back with a resurrection machine, and ancient structures hide gilded chests holding valuable loot or other surprises. Pastures let your team roam free wherever you want, and your Pokémon can be ridden as you explore the world.
Multiplayer is covered as well, so trading and battling with friends works on a shared world. Data packs and resource packs give full control over custom variations and fakemon, and many biome mods are supported, with a growing list of others being added. The mod is still in active development, so some features remain work in progress and more are planned.
