Ambient Additions is about the small life living in the corners of a Minecraft world. It adds a set of fully animated animals, from adorable corgis and radially symmetric starfish to shy crabs and miniature armadillos, aiming to bring more fauna into the world instead of leaving it empty.
Catching them is half the point. Many of the new animals can be scooped into buckets, pots, bottles or bowls, and a dedicated sedate-and-crate kit handles the creatures that cannot be caught by other means. An Empty Crate is used on a sedated animal with a right-click and releases it again the same way, and a loaded Crate picks up a new texture and an enchantment glint while naming its passenger in the tooltip.
Sedation runs through blowguns and darts. A blowgun charges like a bow and fires one dart at a time, and every dart lands a single stun on its target. Tougher animals simply need more hits, since the required number of stuns scales with health, and once a mob finally drops it stays sedated for 30 seconds with sleepy particles above it.
That short window is the whole loop: stun, sedate, crate and carry the animal home. It gives zoo builders and critter catchers a proper toolkit to work with.
