Universal Enchants opens up the Minecraft enchantment system by letting enchantments apply to far more items and by removing compatibility limits that feel unnecessary. Put Looting on a trident, Infinity on a crossbow, Sharpness on an axe or protection enchantments on animal armor while the game still feels like vanilla.
Ranged weapons gain a lot: bows can take Multishot, Piercing, Quick Charge and Looting, while crossbows accept Power, Punch, Infinity and Flame. Tridents and maces get damage and utility enchantments, and horse, wolf and nautilus armor can receive Protection, Feather Falling, Frost Walker, Soul Speed and Thorns. Combos like Infinity with Mending work by default, and damage or protection enchantments can optionally stack.
Several vanilla enchantments are also improved. Infinity becomes truly infinite, Looting and Fortune reward extra experience, Feather Falling stops farmland trampling and Multishot works better thanks to removed projectile immunity. Every tweak can be toggled individually, and bundled data packs can be enabled when creating a world or with the datapack command on existing worlds and servers.
The mod must be installed on both client and server. On Fabric it requires Fabric API, Puzzles Lib and Forge Config API Port, and in-game configuration is available with Mod Menu.
