Slyde removes the hard stops that Minecraft places on its option sliders. Instead of ending where the vanilla interface says it should, a slider keeps going into an extended range, so settings such as field of view or gamma can be pushed to numbers the game was never meant to offer.
The trick is in how values are stored: the options code is modified so anything set outside the normal range is kept properly instead of being clamped back to a legal value. There is also an optional cursor lock while dragging, because on Windows the edge of the screen can cut a drag short and stop you reaching the value you were aiming for.
The cursed label is earned. Extreme numbers will break things if you are not careful, and changing the target resolution outside its slider crashes the game outright, so this is best treated as a tool for deliberate visual experiments rather than a permanent part of a normal setup.
