Embeddium and Rubidium concentrate on rendering, but they leave out many of the fine-grained video options players are used to. Embeddium (Rubidium) Extra fills that gap by bringing most of the OptiFine features across as an extra layer on top, so both performance and visuals can be shaped again.
The options are grouped into clear categories. Animation settings control fire, water, lava and block animations; particle settings cover all types of particles, including ones added by other mods; detail settings handle the sky, stars, sun and moon, weather and much more; render settings deal with fog, static entities and other miscellaneous renderings; and the extra section adds an FPS readout, coordinates, toast notifications and clouds. Visual bug fixes and performance features that the base mod does not offer yet come along with them.
Rubidium or Embeddium has to be installed for the mod to work, since this is an add-on rather than a standalone renderer. Development focuses on Embeddium while Rubidium compatibility remains a priority, and this build targets Minecraft 1.21.1 on NeoForge.
