ViaFabricPlus is a client-side Fabric mod that lets a current Minecraft client connect to servers running almost any version ever released. It builds on the ViaVersion protocol translation project and layers extra fixes on top of it, so an old server plays much more like it did back then instead of feeling like a modern client bolted onto ancient code.
The supported range is enormous. Every release from 1.0.0 up to the newest supported one is covered, along with Beta from b1.0 to b1.8.1, Alpha from a1.0.15 to a1.2.6, Classic from c0.0.15 to c0.30 including the Classic Protocol Extension, the April Fools builds such as 3D Shareware, 20w14infinite and 25w14craftmine, the Combat Snapshots up to Combat Test 8c, and Bedrock Edition 1.26.20 with a handful of features still missing. Support for brand new releases usually arrives within a few days.
What separates it from a plain protocol bridge is the correction work. Movement, block and entity interactions, graphics and other version-specific behaviour are adjusted per protocol so an old server feels period-accurate. A few limits are worth knowing first: it only works with the newest client version, it only runs on Fabric with no Forge or NeoForge build planned, it affects multiplayer and never singleplayer worlds, and resource packs from older versions are not carried across.
Because it changes the way the client speaks to a server, there is no guarantee that every server will allow it, and an anti-cheat plugin may pick it up as something worth flagging. Use it sensibly and at your own risk. This build targets Minecraft 1.21.1 on Fabric and weighs 9.66 MB.
