The vanilla main menu spaces the options and quit buttons differently from the buttons above them, a small inconsistency that is hard to unsee once you have noticed it. ButtonPositionFix moves those three buttons up by twelve pixels so the whole menu sits on an even rhythm again.
The change is handled by a single mixin, so the mod stays tiny and touches nothing beyond the menu layout itself. That minimal approach is also why it covers such a wide range of older releases up to 1.12.2, with Fabric and Ornithe as the supported loaders.
