Roguelike Dungeons grows the old box-style dungeon room into a full underground crawl. Instead of a single isolated chamber, the mod builds multi-level complexes below the surface, linking rooms together with corridors and stairwells so that every structure becomes a small expedition rather than a quick detour.
The loot and difficulty curve are tuned to reward a single deep run: entering a dungeon early and clearing it from top to bottom is meant to be a viable alternative progression path, while the deeper levels stay worthwhile long into the late game. Chests are filled procedurally by default, and mob spawners produce enemies carrying real equipment.
Generation stays under your control. Dungeons appear naturally as new chunks load, usually near villages since the locate command does not cover them, but the roguelike command can drop one at your feet whenever you want, and the roguelikeDungeonsGenerate game rule switches natural spawning off entirely. The config file exposes generation frequency, rooms per level, whether the first floor starts below sea level, and whether mobs drop their gear.
Adding the mod to an existing world is safe: dungeons simply start appearing in newly generated terrain, and removing it later leaves the world intact. It is fully vanilla compatible in multiplayer, so players joining a server do not need to install anything, and the loot can be extended with data packs that supply the dungeon’s own loot tables.
