The crimson forests of the Nether get a new resident with this mod: a fiery species of bamboo that generates in uncommon but unusually large patches. Its yellow colour and steady glow make a patch easy to spot from a distance, and the plant has picked up stone-like qualities to survive where it grows, shrugging off fire, lava and even a direct hit from a ghast fireball. The heat cuts both ways, though, because standing too close to the stalks deals fire damage.
What makes it worth harvesting is how much it feeds back into the game. Blazing bamboo crafts into blaze rods, turning them into something you can farm peacefully and renewably, and it doubles as a strong furnace fuel that can be fully automated. The fireproof wood is the other half of the appeal: it builds lava rafts that carry you across lava the way a boat crosses water, and it feeds an expanded set of decorative stone and wood blocks that all keep their fire-proof, lava-proof and ghast-proof properties.
Farming it outside the Nether is possible with a little planning. The plant takes root on a wide range of stone types and dry soils across all dimensions, so a plantation away from the Nether works as long as it stays dry. Water nearby, rain or snow will kill it quickly, but nothing is wasted when that happens: dead blazing bamboo crumbles into gunpowder, which makes even a failed patch a usable second harvest.
