Vintage Delight is a culinary expansion that builds on Farmer’s Delight and centers everything on one new block, the Fermenting Jar. It is used to pickle food and to experiment with fermentation, and because the jar displays the items kept inside it, the same block doubles as decoration.
The farm side brings a set of new crops. Oats grow tall and end up as oatmeal, cookies and granola, peanuts can be roasted or turned into nut mash, ghost peppers turn up in the Nether and become pickles or chili, cucumbers make salads and tangy pickles, and Gearo Berries from dark oak forests cook down into jam. Jams are stored in mason jars that can be consumed, broken down into bottles that are easier to carry, or simply left out as decoration. Track down a magic peanut and it grows into a magic vine with treasure waiting at the top.
Beyond food there is a full salt chain: the Evaporator block makes salt farming possible, and the salt itself goes into salted meats, fermentation recipes, building blocks and colorful salt lamps, while cheese curds and cheese mold pans cover cheese production. Chef hats come in a spectrum of colors, the Lush Grass grown from a magic vine spreads over Rich Soil to keep a base green whatever the biome, and the Vine Net can be placed at the top, middle or bottom of a block for treehouse floors or as a decorative carpet.
