Equivalent Exchange is the mod that started the whole transmutation idea in Minecraft. The premise is simple and a little heretical: with enough of one material you can turn it into another, and in bulk. Dirt becomes diamonds, diamonds become dirt, and the stockpile that used to be dead weight in your storage room finally has a use.
The Philosopher’s Stone is the way in. Charged to the top and opened with its own key, it brings up a transmutation grid where materials are converted, and it comes out of every recipe intact instead of being spent. From there the system widens: a Klein Star holds a charge and supplies fuel once it is switched on, a Gem of Eternal Density quietly condenses whatever you hand it, and collectors and condensers keep working in the background, leaving what they finish in the chest sitting next to them.
None of it comes cheap. The mod is upfront that its items are punishingly expensive, so the godlike sandbox endgame it promises has to be earned first. Keys for charging an item, releasing that charge, toggling an active effect and opening the transmutation screen can all be remapped in the mod’s properties file, which also stores every block and item ID in case something else in your setup wants the same slot.
