Amethyst Core is a library rather than a content pack: it hands Minecraft mod developers the groundwork for building magic-themed mods. It already powers the Amethyst Imbuement family, and it is written so that a new magic mod can either extend that family or stand entirely on its own.
The centrepiece is the Modifier framework, an alternative to vanilla enchanting. Modifiers are designed to be permanent, so a grindstone cannot remove them, and they internalise their own behaviour instead of being scattered across separate damage methods. They also branch through a family tree, letting a sword climb from Rusty to Shiny to Gleaming rather than showing a bare tier number. One can be as simple as a container for attribute modifiers, or as involved as changing spell cost, cooldown, damage and range, or afflicting every mob within twelve blocks of the caster with Wither on a successful cast.
Around that sit the rest of the tools: scepters ranging from an almost bare abstract item to a nearly finished implementation, augments for scepters, trinkets and equipment with passive ticking and on-equip effects, utilities for modular trinket-compatible gear, and mana-based items that spend a healable resource instead of durability and never break at their minimum. Crafting and progression are deliberately left out, so imbuing recipes, blood rituals or nature magic are all equally open.
There is plenty of general-purpose plumbing too: an auto-syncing configuration system, easy registration of custom item models in the style of the trident, a ticking event registry, helpers for adding to loot tables, particles that track the player and appear where you want them on screen, and persistent effects that fire over time without custom ticking code. It runs on Fabric and Quilt for Minecraft 1.20.x.
