Wraith Waystones replaces long overland treks with a network of teleport stones you build and discover yourself. Activating a waystone marks it as discovered for your character, and from then on it shows up in the teleport menu of every other stone you have found. A waystone can also be made global, so everyone in the world can travel to it without tracking the block down first.
Ownership matters here. Whoever places a stone, or first uses one that has no owner, becomes its owner and can rename it, flip its global visibility, and, once that option is switched on in the config, shift-right-click to reclaim the items other players paid to teleport in. Waystones also turn up in naturally generated villages, with the default settings placing one per village, so ordinary exploring on foot slowly builds a fast travel map for you.
A set of portable items rounds out the system. The Abyss Watcher is used to craft waystones and opens the teleport menu when right-clicked, vanishing afterwards, while the Pocket Wormhole does the same job without being consumed. Waystone Scrolls store everything you have discovered so another player can unlock the whole network at once, the Local Void binds to a single stone for a free trip home, and the Void Totem doubles as a Totem of Undying that drops you back at a bound waystone on death.
Everything from the teleport price to village generation lives in a config file created the first time you launch the game with the mod. Costs can be paid in items, health, experience, levels or hunger, or switched off entirely for a more relaxed run, and waystones can be set to keep their data when you break them while sneaking.
