Kingdom Keys 2 is a complete rewrite that pulls the world of Kingdom Hearts into Minecraft as a full progression system rather than a handful of props. A leveling track raises HP, Strength, Magic, Defense, Abilities and Shotlocks as you grow stronger, while a Command Menu sits in the bottom left corner and a dedicated set of menus lets you equip weapons, items and abilities, form parties and check your status.
Combat follows the source games closely. Magic has its own level ups and reaches as far as Grand Magic, Drive Forms add growth abilities and dual wielding with a working offhand attack, and Shotlock attacks draw on the focus bar. Abilities come from three separate categories, and reaction commands fire for Auto form abilities and Grand Magic. Facing you are more than fifteen new enemies drawn from the ranks of the Heartless and the Nobodies.
The item list is the heart of the mod: over 120 Keyblades with their keychains, gathered from eight different Kingdom Hearts titles, more than 250 Organization XIII weapons, armor worn by Keyblade wielders, foretellers and villains, accessories that push your stats further, consumables for the command menu and 13 music discs. Wearing Organization XIII robes brings their own system into play, and synthesis ties the rest together, turning materials and ores into keychains and consumables while a Synthesis Bag keeps those ingredients out of your main inventory.
There is plenty to place in the world as well. Bug Blox from Re:Coded include some with unique features once powered with redstone, a Magical Chest can be locked with a keyblade and a pedestal shows off your keyblades. A separate dimension, the Station of Awakening, is where you choose your path and initial boost. Just Enough Items support gives guidance on using the mod in game, and plenty of config options plus datapack overrides let you retune weapon stats, drive form data and magic values.
