Craftable Creatures turns spawn eggs into something you earn. Rather than an item reserved for creative mode, every egg is the end of a short production chain that begins with the mob you want to reproduce, which gives a Minecraft survival world a controlled way to bring specific creatures back where you want them.
The chain runs on two ingredients. One is a drop from the mob in question, gathered the usual way by hunting it down. The other is a soul, left behind at the spot where you died and picked up on your way back. Bluestone ties the two together: mined and worked into a blueprint, then combined with a chicken egg, it becomes the spawn egg template the recipe needs.
Two machines finish the job. The Soul Extractor takes the mob drop, bluestone and a soul in its input slots and works for a while before the result can be collected, and the Combiner then merges that soul with the template to produce the egg itself. Bluestone also comes as a block that can be broken back down again, along with a powered variant that does the same, and a guide book can be crafted for reference in game.
