Better Trees rebuilds overworld tree generation from the ground up. Trees grow taller and take on more complex shapes than their vanilla counterparts, yet they stay close enough to the original style that a fresh world still looks like Minecraft rather than a fantasy set piece.
The change is felt across the whole overworld: familiar biomes feel new and more complex, because the trees that fill them no longer match the plain shapes of a default world. It also sits well on top of other overworld worldgen content such as Tectonic, so terrain generation and tree generation can be run together.
Bigger trees pay off at harvest time, since cutting one down returns more wood and more saplings than usual. Many of them are large enough that pairing the pack with a tree-cutting mod is worth the trouble. The content is available as a worldgen datapack and as a mod, with Fabric, Forge and Quilt all supported.
