Visual Overhaul is a lightweight Fabric mod that refreshes how familiar vanilla blocks look in Minecraft. Rather than adding new content, it reworks the appearance of five blocks you already use every day: the jukebox, the brewing stand, the furnace, the smoker and the blast furnace.
Two extra touches go beyond the blocks themselves. When the option is switched on, items are colored according to the biome you are standing in, so the same gear looks different from one region to the next, and the buttons in the game menus receive icons so the interface no longer looks quite so plain.
The new textures come from resource packs shipped with the mod, which take effect once they are enabled in the resource pack selection screen. The biome-colored items, the particles and the button icons are completely client-side, and the newest release adds a client-only way of getting the record in the jukebox, while the block overhauls themselves cannot be limited to the client.
