Better Clouds brings volumetric, multi-layered clouds to the sky, keeping the simple blocky look of the rest of the game. Shader packs and resource packs usually push clouds toward photorealism, which looks impressive on its own but clashes with the low-detail world beneath it. This mod goes the other way and aims for cloud shapes with real depth and volume that still feel like they belong in vanilla.
Almost every part of the result can be tuned. The settings cover the appearance in detail, cloud generation itself can be driven by resource packs, and built-in presets are included for widely used shader packs such as Complementary, BSL, Chocapic, Kappa, Rethinking Voxels and Solas, so the sky lines up with the lighting you already play with.
Compatibility with visual mods including Iris and Serene Seasons is built in, and the renderer is designed to run at least as fast as vanilla cloud rendering, in some cases even faster, which makes it a safe addition to a visual mod list rather than a frame rate trade-off. It runs on the client side, and the Fabric build targets Minecraft 1.21.1 with Fabric API installed alongside it.
