Vanilla Minecraft keeps Infinity and Mending apart and will not let both sit on the same item. Infinity With Mending removes that boundary, so the two can be combined and then used together exactly as they are.
In practice that means a bow that holds an endless supply of arrows and still repairs itself from the experience you collect, instead of forcing a choice between one enchantment and the other.
The mod is a small focused tweak rather than a content pack, which makes it easy to drop into an existing setup without changing anything else about the game. Builds are listed for Forge on 1.12.2, 1.16.5 and 1.18 through 1.20.1, and for Fabric and Quilt on 1.14 through 1.20.4, and this Fabric release targets 1.17.1.
