Villager Hats is a simple cosmetic mod with one clear purpose: the hats worn by villagers become items you can craft and put on yourself. By default a hat takes the helmet slot, so wearing one is a straight trade-off between looking the part and keeping your armour on.
Installing any accessories mod changes that. The hats move into a dedicated hat slot, which frees the helmet slot for real protection and lets the cosmetic sit on top of a full set of armour. There is also a second route to a collection, since zombie villagers drop the hats when killed, so a night out hunting can fill the wardrobe without a single crafting recipe. The mod covers both Fabric and NeoForge on Minecraft 1.21.1.
