Simple Armor Hud puts your equipped armor straight onto the Minecraft HUD, by default just above the food bar, so you can check what you are wearing without opening the inventory. The display is not locked to that spot either: several positions are available, so you can move it to whichever part of the screen fits your layout best.
The HUD also pays attention to what you are doing. It shifts when you dive underwater, when you switch to creative mode and when you climb onto a mount, so it stays out of the way in each of those situations. Compatibility options are included for other mods as well.
Everything is adjustable through Mod Menu or a plain config file, and a keybind in the controls menu toggles the overlay whenever you want a clean view. The mod ships with English, Dutch, German, Vietnamese and Traditional Chinese translations, and it needs the Fabric API installed to run.
