Additional Additions is built around one idea: everything it adds should feel like it was always part of the game. Instead of a new dimension or a sprawling tech tree, it fills in the parts of Minecraft that feel unfinished, from the sniffer with almost nothing to dig up to the long empty stretch between iron and diamond gear.
The sniffer gets eleven new flowers to uncover, from the Cottonshiver to the Lotus Lily, and those flowers can be brewed into Suspicious Dyes that recolour the enchantment glint on your equipment. On the music side, an Album gathers your discs and plays them one after another like a playlist, while the Pocket Jukebox lets you listen on the move without placing anything down. Three original tracks are hidden away in dungeon chests.
Rose Gold bridges the mid-game gap and is crafted from four copper and four gold ingots, so iron equipment has somewhere to go. Copper Patina scraped off oxidised blocks with an axe behaves as redstone wire that refuses to connect to vanilla redstone, which makes parallel wiring simple. Ropes can be dropped down a cliff face from the top block, the Watering Can pushes crops along early on, Trident Shards from Elder Guardians finally give sea temples a purpose, and utilities such as the Wrench, the Barometer, Glow Sticks and the Tinted Redstone Lamp cover the smaller annoyances.
The whole thing is modular. Nearly every feature is exposed in the config folder and can be tuned or switched off completely, so you can keep only the pieces you want and drop the rest. That makes it an easy fit for modpacks running on Fabric for Minecraft 1.17.1.
