Falling into the void is the kind of death that leaves nothing behind. An elytra that suddenly breaks while you are flying around the End, one careless step while building on a skyblock island, and everything you were carrying goes with you. Void Totem closes that gap with a single item: the Totem of Void Undying.
Using it is as simple as the vanilla totem it echoes. Craft one, keep it in your main hand or your offhand, and if you fall into the void you are teleported back to the surface instead of dying down there. That makes it a natural fit for skyblock saves and for modded modpacks, where long stretches of open void are simply part of getting around.
The behaviour can be tuned in the config. A dimension blocklist stops the totem from working in specific dimensions, and that list can be inverted so the totem only works in the dimensions you have explicitly allowed. A teleport height offset, adjustable between 0 and 1024 and set to 64 by default, decides how far above the world height you reappear when you cannot be placed on a block. There is also an option to let the totem work from anywhere in your inventory rather than only from your hands, switched off by default. This NeoForge build targets Minecraft 1.21.1 and is tiny at 0.06 MB.
