The Lost Cities turns the Minecraft Overworld into a vast abandoned civilisation. Procedurally generated cities spread across the map with streets, apartment blocks, factories, roads, highways, bridges and railways, with tunnels and full subway systems running underneath. Interiors are furnished rather than hollow: loot, spawners, cellars, lighting, flooded areas and underground rooms give every building a reason to be searched.
Profiles decide what kind of world you get. One fills the map with sprawling city regions, another scatters rare cities separated by wilderness, and others produce heavily damaged ruins, safer buildings, tall skylines, domed cities or other specialised landscapes. An in-game configuration screen lets you pick a profile and customise generation, while custom profiles reach further into city frequency, building height, damage, explosions, terrain, infrastructure and loot.
Because the cities are integrated into normal terrain generation, the mod combines with biome and terrain mods instead of overriding them. Modpack authors get data-driven buildings, palettes, city styles and world styles to build on, and the mod can run server-side only, which lets unmodded clients join a ruined Overworld when no client-side features are needed.
