Sword Soaring builds on the Epic Fight combat system and pushes it towards the world of Chinese martial arts fiction. The add-on introduces a set of sword techniques headed by sword soaring itself, the move the mod takes its name from, turning ordinary swordplay into something closer to a heroic novel.
The headline addition is Vatansever, a legendary weapon with its own combos. Pressing shift while it is in hand brings up its combo information, so learning the chains does not come down to trial and error. Players who also run Epic Fight: Skill Tree get a ready-made skill tree for the soaring skills, which slots the new abilities into progression they already understand.
Pack makers and mod authors are not limited to the bundled weapon. The mod exposes its sword soaring living motions, so a custom weapon can be given its own soaring animation. Setting the game language to Literary Chinese is suggested for an enhanced experience, and the Forge build targets Minecraft 1.19.2 at well under half a megabyte.
