YUNG’s Better Nether Fortresses redesigns the Nether fortress from the ground up. Compared with the vanilla version, a Better Fortress is much larger, considerably more complex and far more rewarding, so a trip into the Nether becomes a full expedition rather than a quick stop.
Every fortress is made up of three parts: the bridge networks, the Keep and the Lava Halls, which extend deep underground. Exploring all three means working through the whole complex from the upper walkways down into the depths, which gives the structure a layered feel the vanilla version never had.
The mod also ships with built-in Create compatibility. If Create is installed, certain parts of a fortress have a chance of generating with Create pieces, and this is entirely optional since Create is not required to run the mod. Beyond that, the fortresses are intended to be fully compatible with every worldgen mod, including other YUNG structure mods and Nether biome mods such as Infernal Expansion. Apocalyptic Fortress structures spawn alongside the Better Fortress, and with Bygone Nether installed the Better Fortress generates in place of that mod’s enhanced vanilla fortress.
