Paragliders recreates the paraglider from The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild inside Minecraft, together with the systems built around it. Hold the item and jump off a ledge and you glide instead of dropping. Light a fire underneath and the rising updraft carries you back up, signalled in the world by rising wind particles whenever a paraglider is in your hand. Gliders can be dyed, and a Deku Leaf modelled on The Wind Waker is included as a purely cosmetic alternative.
Gliding runs on a simple stamina system taken from the original game. Stamina limits how far a single flight goes, and the config decides how strict it is: switch it off entirely, leave it as it is, or push it further by making running and swimming drain the bar as well.
Progression comes from spirit orbs. Collect four and trade them at a Goddess Statue for either a heart container or a stamina vessel, raising your maximum health or your time in the air. The orbs are scattered through ancient ruins, hidden treasures, mysterious temples and structures in far more dangerous places, and defeating the toughest bosses or saving a village from an attack is rewarded with them as well. Goddess Statues turn up around villages and come in three cosmetic styles, while a more sinister statue, found in villages or buried at random, trades your hearts and stamina vessels for money and offers buyback on top.
Nearly everything here is tunable. Paragliders can be given durability and a different horizontal speed, wind sources can be defined from block tags, blockstates or datapacks with an adjustable wind height, and the caps on heart containers and stamina vessels, your starting health and stamina, and the value of each vessel are all config values. Statue trades accept custom bargain recipes, and individual drops or a single upgrade type can be disabled while the rest keeps working.
