Simple Dive Gear is a small equipment mod that makes the ocean floor and lava lakes worth visiting. It adds two full sets of gear: a deep sea diving suit for underwater work, and a lava diving suit for the moments you need to be inside lava.
Inside the right liquid the gear transforms how you move. You can breathe underwater, swim in place quickly and reliably instead of drifting, and break blocks at a more normal speed, which makes underwater mining and building practical rather than painful. An optional upgrade for the deep sea set improves visibility so you can actually see what you are digging into.
There is a deliberate trade-off. The suits are cumbersome, so wearing one outside its own liquid slows you down and makes mining hard work, pushing you to swap gear when you climb back out. Air runs on a timer that drains while you are underwater and fills back up once you surface, in the style of a Subnautica oxygen tank, so every dive becomes a short planned trip instead of an endless stay.
