Vanilla tooltips say very little about the tool in your hand. Tool Stats closes that gap by adding extra stat lines to the tooltips of tools and other equipment in Minecraft, so the values behind a piece of gear sit in the inventory, right where you are deciding what to carry.
Four pieces of information are covered. Harvest level and mining efficiency show up on tiered items such as pickaxes, which turns comparing one material against another into a matter of reading rather than remembering. Enchantability is listed on every enchantable item, but only while the enchanting table screen is open, so ordinary tooltips stay uncluttered. Remaining durability appears on tools once they have taken damage.
None of it is forced on you. Certain pieces of information can be disabled in the config, so the tooltip can be trimmed back to the values that matter to your setup. This build runs on Fabric for Minecraft 1.20.x and, at 0.02 MB, is about as light an addition as a pack can take on.
