Vanilla combat in Minecraft stops at the crossbow, and Superb Warfare picks up where it leaves off. It is a warfare themed mod built on three pillars: a full rack of firearms, artillery heavy enough to reshape the terrain, and vehicles that can be driven straight into a fight. The result plays far closer to a first-person shooter than to block-world melee, while still sitting inside the game it extends.
The guns carry the mod. Each weapon comes with high quality animations that cover everything from reloading to aiming, which is what makes the shooting feel like a shooter rather than a swap of item models. A perk system sits on top of that: different weapon perks push damage, fire rate and other traits in whichever direction suits your playstyle, so two players holding the same weapon can end up with quite different tools.
Firepower escalates from there. Heavy weaponry runs from rocket launchers up to the annihilator energy cannon, and armored vehicles such as tanks and helicopters are fully drivable rather than decorative. Block destruction from explosions is turned on by default, so a firefight leaves the landscape looking like one. Where that is more damage than a world can take, the explosion destruction setting can be disabled in the server configuration file, or flipped in-game with the /sbw config explosionDestroy command.
GeckoLib and the Curios API are needed alongside it, and adding Cloth Config makes the options editable from inside the game. At 39.73 MB this is one of the heavier additions a pack can take on, which is reasonable given the volume of models, animations and vehicles involved, and it runs on NeoForge for Minecraft 1.21.1.
