Habitat is an Overworld expansion built around the biomes the game already has. Rather than waiting for new terrain, it fills familiar forests, plains, deserts and jungles with plants, mobs and small details that give old ground a reason to be explored again, with entirely new biomes planned for a later stage.
Every addition is tied to where it belongs. Rafflesia grows deep in jungles, Kabloom bushes and their fruit appear out on the plains, and ball cacti show up in four colors across deserts and badlands. Slime ferns sprout only below Y=40 inside slime chunks, while dark forests hold fairy rings and the Pooka, a mushroom rabbit mob found in the same biome. Passerine songbirds cover the rest, spawning in forests, birch forests, taigas, jungles, flower forests, savannas and groves, including their old growth and windswept versions.
The mod also reacts to the rest of your pack. With Enhanced Mushrooms installed, the fairy ring mushroom stem is swapped for a version that behaves like that mod’s mushroom stems and can be crafted into a full Fairy Ring Mushroom wood set, and further blocks become craftable when Quark and Buzzier Bees are present. Fairy ring mushrooms double as compost activators for Farmer’s Delight, blocks support Environmental and Farmer’s Delight crafting, and Abnormals Core advancement modifiers make the added food, effects and mobs count towards advancements.
