Skeletons are one of the most familiar hostile mobs in Minecraft, and also one of the most frustrating to fight, because their strafing routine sends them shuffling backwards over ledges, into corners and out of the fight entirely. Skeleton AI Fix takes that behaviour out of the game. Instead of retreating across the terrain, skeletons hold their position and put all of their attention into shooting at you.
The trade for that lost mobility is pressure. The closer you get, the faster the arrows come, and their aim sharpens as you close the distance, so pushing an archer is a real decision rather than a free kill. Every skeleton that uses a bow behaves this way, from the classic one to the Stray, which makes open-field encounters and cave ambushes noticeably more intense.
The change is a behavioural one, so the mod has to be installed on the server as well for the new AI to apply. Puzzles Lib is required alongside it, and the settings can be adjusted from the in-game mod menu or by editing the config file directly if you prefer to tune the fight to your own taste.
