Goety – The Dark Arts answers a question most Minecraft players have quietly asked: where does the magic of the illagers actually come from, and what really powers their totems? It is a magic mod built around necromancy and dark ritual, adding new mobs, new structures and a full system for harnessing arcane power, along with the lore and the treasure that comes with it.
Soul Energy is the currency of that power. You collect it by killing mobs, with some creatures worth far more than others, and store it in a totem that then fuels the rest of your magic. Spellcasting means wearing magical robes and wielding a wand or a staff fitted with a focus, which covers everything from summoning magical fangs upwards.
Beyond raw spellcasting there are servants to summon, a small army that defends you and tears into your enemies, a brewing system for custom potions in the style of a proper witch, and artifices, which run on the Soul Energy you have banked. Exploring the world turns up structures that hide the mod’s secrets and its best rewards.
An in-game guide is available if Patchouli is installed, in the form of a craftable Black Book that documents the mod’s features, and an item viewer such as JEI is strongly recommended for finding recipes. The mod is highly configurable, runs on Forge and NeoForge for Minecraft 1.21.1 and weighs 75.17 MB.
