Modded chest variants have a long-standing problem on Create contraptions: the game does not treat them as inventories, so they cannot pick up items from contraption actors, cannot be opened by hand and stay invisible to portable storage interfaces. Create: Compatible Storage solves that by adding the block tags those blocks were missing, which means the prettier chests in your build can finally ride along and still work.
The supported list is broad. Chest variants from Quark, Woodworks, More Chest Variants, Stone Chest, Hexerei, Goety, Carved Wood and The Twilight Forest are covered, alongside Farmer’s Delight cabinets and basket, My Nether’s Delight cabinet variants, everything from Storage Delight, Another Furniture drawers, Handcrafted blocks that hold items, Ars Nouveau repositories and the archwood chest, Chipped and Alex’s Caves barrels, Iron Chests and Iron Shulker Box tiers, and the Let’s Do line: Candlelight, Furniture, Vinery, Brewery, Bakery, Meadow and Beachparty. Every Compat versions of those blocks are handled as well.
A set of smaller polish fixes comes with it. Mounted storage now uses more consistent interface titles, so a red shulker box on a contraption simply reads as a moving shulker box, and opening and closing sounds behave the way they should, with barrels finally getting a close sound. Carved Wood campfire variants emit smoke on contraptions, and Alex’s Caves gingerbread doors can be opened while mounted. Create 6.0.X needs to be installed for all of this to apply.
