Storage space runs out fast in any long-running Minecraft world, and CB: Compressed Blocks attacks the problem at its root. Nine identical blocks crafted together become a single compressed block, and nine identical items become a crate, so a chest full of one material collapses into a handful of slots.
Compression is not limited to a single step. A compressed block can be compressed again, level after level, until one block stands for as many as 3,486,784,101 of the original blocks or items. Altogether the mod covers 264 compressed block types and 179 crate types, so almost everything you mine, farm or craft in bulk has somewhere to go.
Everything runs through vanilla crafting, with no machines or extra interfaces to learn. Fill a 3×3 grid to compress, and put a compressed block or crate back into a crafting table or your own crafting inventory to get the original nine back. The compressed variants stay ordinary placeable blocks, so they serve for building just as well as for pure storage.
