Spiky Spikes turns a simple block into a proper mob farm tool. Placed on the ground, a spike damages mobs that walk over it, and each of the six tiers handles damage, loot and experience a little differently, so you can build a trap that produces exactly the drops you want.
The lower tiers are the gentle ones. Wooden spikes wear mobs down but never land the killing blow, which is ideal when you want a crowd of low-health targets waiting for you. Stone spikes finish mobs off without leaving anything behind, iron spikes hand over normal loot with no experience, and golden spikes flip that around by giving experience and nothing else.
Diamond and netherite spikes are the endgame options. Both deal heavy damage and make mobs drop everything they would if a player had killed them, and both accept most sword enchantments applied at an anvil. Netherite goes further: it shrugs off explosions, survives the wither boss and never hurts players, so you can walk across your own trap without a second thought.
One detail is worth planning ahead. An enchanted book applies to a whole stack of spikes at once, so it pays to gather every spike you intend to enchant before heading to the anvil. The mod runs on NeoForge for Minecraft 1.21.1 and its behaviour can be adjusted through a config file.
