Moving a mob in Minecraft is normally a chore of leads, fence posts and a long trail of wheat. Mob Lassos replaces all of that with a craftable lasso: catch the animal, keep it in your inventory, walk wherever you want and let it out at the other end. No lead, no animal food, no half hour of herding a cow through a forest.
There are several lassos and each one has its own rules. The golden lasso takes any land animal and the aquatic lasso any water animal, while the diamond lasso handles every animal and drops the escape timer entirely, since the other lassos only hold their catch for a while before the mob breaks free. The emerald lasso is reserved for villagers, and even then only for the ones willing to accept a contract, because not every villager wants to be captured. The hostile lasso is the risky one: it can hold a monster, but only once that monster is below half health, and it will keep biting you the whole way home.
Smaller touches round the mod off. A captured mob can be renamed by putting a new name on its lasso in an anvil, and the holding enchantment stretches how long a lasso keeps hold of what is inside it. Settings can be changed in game through a mod menu where one is available, or by editing the config files by hand. The mod runs on Fabric for Minecraft 1.18.2 and has to be installed on both the client and the server, with Puzzles Lib and the Fabric API alongside it.
