Features:
- Adds a renewable source for the orestones of the Create mod
- Molten vents generate anywhere on the surface and are easier to find underwater
- Six default vent types: Veridium, Asurine, Crimsite, Ochrum, Scorchia and Scoria
- Each vent hides a dormant orestone marked by magma that has to be exploded to activate it
- An active vent shows brighter magma so its state is easy to read
- Lava dumped onto an active vent is converted into the matching orestone
- Produced orestones can be processed into resources or used for building
- Vent generation is configurable
- Custom molten blocks can be registered through a list generated in the config folder
- Datapack world generation files and biome modifiers allow custom vents
- NeoForge support for Minecraft 1.21.1
- Made by Apothicon
Create: Molten Vents fixes one of the quiet limits of the Create mod in Minecraft: its orestones. Veridium, asurine, crimsite, ochrum, scorchia and scoria are not renewable on their own, so once a deposit is mined out that material is finished for good. This add-on turns them into a renewable resource by scattering molten vent formations through the world that convert lava into orestone on demand.
Using a vent is a short chain of steps. Find one on the surface, or search underwater where they are easier to spot, then dig out the blocks inside the structure until you reach a block that looks like the vent’s orestone but carries magma on it. That is the dormant orestone, and exploding it by any means wakes the vent. The magma inside an active vent looks noticeably brighter, and from then on any lava dumped onto it turns into the orestone the vent is made of. Pair it with an automated lava feed and you have a steady supply for processing or for building.
Generation is configurable, so vents can be tuned to suit a world or a modpack. Support for extra materials is open too: adding a block name to the list generated in the config folder registers a new molten block, while the conductive and convertible definitions decide which blocks the vent can convert through and what it converts from. Custom vents themselves can be defined with datapack world generation files and biome modifiers, which makes the mod easy to extend across a modded setup on NeoForge for Minecraft 1.21.1.
