Threateningly Mobs is built around a single idea: survival should push back. The mod fills the world with new hostile creatures whose purpose is to hinder your progress, and most of them are far tougher than anything vanilla Minecraft puts in your way. Many carry unique abilities or resistances, and some will even go after your livestock.
Every biome gets one or two new creatures, split into medium and heavy types. Medium mobs sit at roughly 40 HP or above, while heavy mobs begin at 200 HP and climb from there, often several times or even ten times the health of a vanilla mob. A handful of functional utility creatures round out the roster, but the rest are hostile and dangerous enough that avoiding them is usually the wiser move.
There is a progression path layered on top of the encounters. Dungeons hidden in forest, snowy and desert biomes each hold a boss, and every boss drops its own badge. Combining the three badges creates the Triple Eyes, the key to the Distortion Dimension: right-click a summoning stele with it to raise the portal frame, then use it again to activate the portal. Inside you arrive at the centre of the Saint Palace, where the Hypocritical Saint can be called with its summon rune.
Because the mod brings its own biomes and dimension content, start a fresh world for it rather than adding it to a save you already care about, since removing it later can leave that save unreadable.
